Fibonacci Retracement Calculator — Free Fib Levels Tool

This free Fibonacci retracement calculator instantly returns the key Fib levels — 23.6%, 38.2%, 50%, 61.8%, 78.6% — plus extension targets (1.272, 1.414, 1.618, 2.0, 2.618) from any swing high and low you enter. Fibonacci retracement levels are among the most-watched confluence zones on XAUUSD and forex charts because thousands of traders act at the same prices.

Fibonacci Retracement Calculator is part of the free Aurex Trader calculator suite — 23 browser-based tools for gold (XAUUSD) and forex traders. Nothing is installed, no account is required, and every calculation runs locally in your browser.

Formula: Uptrend Level = High − (High − Low) × Ratio | Downtrend Level = Low + (High − Low) × Ratio | Extension = beyond the swing in trend direction Example: XAUUSD swings from 2000 low to 2050 high (50-point range). 61.8% retracement = 2050 − (50 × 0.618) = 2019.10. 1.618 extension = 2050 + (50 × 0.618) = 2080.90.

How to use it

  1. Pick your trend direction — Uptrend if price has rallied and is pulling back, Downtrend if price has dropped and is bouncing.
  2. Enter the swing high price of the leg you want to measure.
  3. Enter the swing low price.
  4. The calculator lists all retracement levels (pullback targets) and extension levels (breakout targets).

Frequently asked questions

Which Fibonacci level is the most important?

The 61.8% level (the 'golden ratio') is watched most closely. Price often finds support there in an uptrend or resistance there in a downtrend. 50% (technically not a true Fib but included by convention) and 38.2% are also high-value confluence zones.

How do I pick the right swing high and low?

Use the most recent completed impulsive move on your trading timeframe — not micro-wiggles. On XAUUSD H1, that's usually the last clear 30–80 point leg. On H4, the last 100–300 point leg. Bigger swings produce more meaningful levels.

What are Fibonacci extensions used for?

Extensions project take-profit targets once price breaks past the swing. Common targets are 1.272 (conservative), 1.618 (standard TP), and 2.618 (extended run). Combine with market structure — don't rely on Fibs alone.

Do Fibonacci levels work on XAUUSD gold?

Yes — and often exceptionally well because gold attracts high-timeframe institutional players who use the same tools. XAUUSD reversals on the 4H and daily 61.8% retracement are among the highest-win-rate setups in the market.

Should I use Fibonacci alone to enter trades?

No. Fibs are a confluence tool, not a signal. Combine a Fib level with market structure (order block, liquidity sweep), a candlestick confirmation, and higher-timeframe bias. Naked Fib entries have below-average win rates.
